Behind the Scenes

HOME is an expressionist film in the truest sense: every frame is composed like a painting. The visual imagery is not cinematic for the sake of looking good — every shot, every framing choice, is there to tell you something.

Storytelling Through Frames

This film was my opportunity to practice visual storytelling at the frame level. Before I even knew the term mise-en-scène, I was teaching myself how arrangement, lighting, and composition inside a single frame could carry narrative weight. Later, during my solo film studies, I discovered the term and realized I had been practicing it instinctually all along.

A Poem, Not a Plot

HOME doesn't follow a traditional narrative arc. It unfolds as a poem — an adventure through new experiences, awe, fear, and self-discovery. The journey, once completed, brings enlightenment to the adventurer. The structure is intentionally loose because the emotion is the story.
